Warts are growths on your skin caused by an infection with human papilloma virus, or HPV. Warts can evolve on all parts of your body. They can grow on your skin, on the inside of your mouth, on your genitals and on your rectal area. They are most common among children and young adults. They typically disappear after a few months but can last for years and can reoccur. A few papilloma viruses are known to cause cervical cancer. There are five kinds of warts. They look different and form on different parts of the body. Common warts grow most often on the hands, but they may be anywhere on the body.

Plantar warts rise on the soles of the feet. They seem like difficult, dense patches of rind with blue specks. Plantar warts may induce pain when you walk, and you may look like you are stepping on a pebble. Flat warts normally rise on the cheek, weaponry, or legs.
